A nearby explosion sent him hurtling out into the busy street three stories down, the light frame of his gk.0 dropsuit absorbing most of the explosive force. Spinning out of control and falling quickly, he activated his inertia dampeners and braced for impact; slamming down right between both lanes. Tires screeched and horns blared as frightened drivers swerved, his suit slowly rising as it displaced the shock. Debris crashed down around him, crushing vehicles end sending others flipping uncontrollably; one of which was flipping violently towards him.
Without skipping a beat, the Gallente agent jumped back and away from his hunter, landing on an oncoming van and rolling up along its roof. Grabbing the metal like it were cloth, he got a firm grip, regained himself, and lept off a moment later; rolling into a side alley, away from the nearby devastation.
His body was drained from overexertion, but the stimulants coursing through his suit were constantly fortifying his endurance, allowing him to recover faster and be active for longer stretches of time. The prototype shield module had absorbed most of his impact, and thanks to highly complex profile dampeners, there wasn't a chance in hell any scans were picking him up. For all intents and purposes, he was invisible.
Well, for now, anyways. Grinning behind his featureless mask, he gazed down at the small device in his left hand, a top secret technology that now belonged to him. His mind raced as he thought of the possibilities, and the dangers; of what he could do with this technology....the entire Khali'un Industrials division could start mass producing them in a matter of months. Or, he could covet it, and use it discretely against his enemies...or even simpler still, he could just use it for pure selfish joy.
His grin widened at the thought.
"For now...."
With a chuckle, he swiped his thumb across the holo panel, gently tapping the activation sequence as a gentle hum rose from the device. A moment later, he was completely invisible.
Sirens echoed throughout the night, the sound of military MTACs in hot pursuit drowning out the cities cries of confusion and anguish.
There efforts were futile.
He was gone. |
